[Raven opens her eyes and blinks as she discovers Sokka and the stack of containers he's carrying.] Have you changed your mind and decided to invite all the people from your world after all?

[A flick of her wrist and all the containers find themselves surrounded in a black glow, levitating quietly in front of Sokka. Raven stands up, grabbing her bag, and walks to Sokka.] So where shall I set those down?

Anywhere's fine. And it's just you and me and some leftovers, so don't worry too much.

[He steps up and gives her a kiss on the cheek.]

How are you holding up?

[Raven pulls a blanket out of her bag and lays it on the ground. Then she carefully sets the containers down on it.

When Sokka kisses her cheek, she offers a small smile.] I am. It's not the first time people I care about are sent back, after all.

I know. Doesn't make it any easier when it happens.

[He moves on to the blanket and takes a seat, crossing his legs and scratching at his cheek.]

I probably should have come to see you earlier. Checked on Hermione and Ginny, you know? But then Suki woke up and Mako lost his scarf and-- [A shake of his head.] No good enough excuse. Sorry I'm late.

Castiel's back at least. And he remembers.

[She sits down next to him.]

You don't need to apologize to me. You did what you thought you had to do.

[He inches closer and rests his head on her shoulder with a sigh.]

What I have to do is clone myself. I can't seem to be in all the places I want to be all the time.

[And she lets him. The closeness is soothing somehow. It makes her feel less lonely.]

Azar forbid. This world wouldn't resist to several versions of you.

So tell me, is Suki better? And what was the big deal with Mako's scarf?

[Haha, funny, Raven. Sokka is laughing so hard.]

I wouldn't say she's better, but she's awake now, so I take that as a sign of good things to come. As for the scarf? I guess someone stole it and it's special to him, so he was pretty inconsolable.

[Buy yourself a sense of humor, you Grumpy Tribesman. You need one in a place like this.]

I'm glad to hear it. [She's been pretty worried about Suki.]

Because he got it from someone he cares about, I presume. Well people do stupid things... But it's also his bad for letting them know it's special to him and then leaving it somewhere they could take it.

[If only his job allowed for a real paycheck...]

I don't think he let them know how important it was until after it was stolen, but still, you're right. He's not the first, though, so I guess I can't blame him for making the mistake.

[You tell her about it...]

Well someone must have known it was before, obviously.

That said it kinda surprises me coming from him. I talked with him only once and he struck me as rather paranoïd and secretive.

Don't you remember Ron telling everyone on the network to stay away from his girlfriend? I think people like that are just more likely to forget it just leaves them open for ambush. Still, it would be nice if there were some sort of organization here that followed up on crimes like that...

[He's hinting for a reason, Raven~]

Oh. So you think Ron had it coming in a sense? [Because given what she knows, it might be pushing it a bit, Sokka.]

There already is one. ...And it's missing you, Sokka. [She's missing you on her squad.]

[That wasn't what he meant at all, but now that he thinks about it, he can see where Raven might get that impression. Still, to avoid too much over-explanation, he just sticks with what's at hand.]

I'd like to join back up. Things really do need to change, though, Raven. It's too unorganized and... loose. No one knows what they're doing -- or, more accurately, what everyone else is doing. It's no cohesive right now.

[Break might not be happy to see Sokka join back up. But he's not part of the Protection Squad. But even if he was, Raven doesn't care.]

I've noticed that too. Al, Rome and I are trying to liase with each other regularly. But it's true tha the communication is not so good with the rest of the team. We definitely ought to work on that.

[Break never did seem happy for Sokka's inclusion into the world of Adstringendum, but the tribesman maintains his right to protect as best he can. If that means the Protection Squad, then that's what he's going to do.]

We just need clear, set goals. And instructions on how to deal with people if we do need to get involved.

Well the Protection Squad already has goals. ...Or do you have something else in mind?

You mean how to talk to victims?

More like how we deal with offenders. We don't do anything in that aspect. [He flops back on the floor, cushioning his head with his interlaced fingers.] I wish it was easier to command a little more respect as an organization.

It'd certainly make things easier. That said, given how many powerful beings there are here, it won't be easy to achieve. You know, back home, the villains only respect us once we're kicked their asses. And it's never stopped them from trying again. [Even if they know the Teen Titans are protecting the city.]

Yeah, you're right about that. I know when Raphael was still here, she offered to help with those people with powers, but... I'm just not sure what we can do. The proverbial slap on the wrist isn't going to stop anyone.

Fat chance it would stop anyone, yeah.

You knew Raphael well?

Kind of? I mean, it's hard to know a person that keeps to themselves like that, but I'd like to think we were good friends. She watched over me during that whole personality swap ordeal -- for days. Even after I was returned to normal. It worked out well for me, but...

[He frowns, looking down as he picks at his fingernails.] The last time we talked, she was mad at me for visiting the Animus.

[Raven smirks.] And yet I'd say you have some experience with that kind of people. [People who keep to themselves, she means. Raven, Jet...]

Hmm. Makes sense. Did you find out what your price was, by the way?

Yeah, I did. [He shifts uncomfortably. It had been a hard conversation with Katara, and yet he has less feeling about it all than he should.]

[Sokka picks at his boot.]

They took the memory of my parents. I guess they were around when I was a kid...

[Raven moves closer to Sokka and slowly wraps her arms around him.] I'm sorry.
