feel_nevermore | Raven's IC contact (Adstringendum)

[A small black cat, with eyes about the same blue as Leon, comes to butt his head against Leon's legs and he mewls softly in greeting. Raven's voice comes through one of the nearest doors.]

I'm in the kitchen, Leon.

[And as if to lead the way, Shadow the cat starts making a bee line towards that door.]

[Reaching down, Leon pets the cat because he's secretly a crazy cat guy. But he follows Raven's voice and finds her in the kitchen.]

Happy belated birthday.

[As Leon walks in, Shadow is already purring against Raven's legs, begging for her to pet him too. Raven finishes pouring the tea in the two mugs in front of her before automatically reaching for her cat and turning to Leon.]

Tea's ready.

[She nods at him in greeting.]

Why thanks. ...I must admit your call kinda surprised me. I didn't remember telling you when my birthday was.

[He shrugged and sat down.]

You told me at Albedo and Rubedo's birthday party.

[She sets one of the tea mugs in front of him and then takes a seat opposite to Leon, holding her own mug.]

I did? ...Well it's true that we've been sharing things with each other that we usually wouldn't share with most people, haven't we?

[He let her in his mind, and she allowed him to see her weaknesses, her real self beneath the emotionless mask more than once. Leon's become a dear friend to her, even if she doesn't show it as much as she should.]

[That got him to smile and he nodded before picking the mug up to take a sip.]

You've got a point. But I didn't mean to bring it so late, kind of figured I'd run into you before now was all.

Yeah... Things can get pretty crazy here.

Also you didn't really have to get me anything, you know.

[That's drawing a concerned face as Leon sets the cup down.]

Didn't anyone else wish you a happy birthday or anything? Did you get other gifts?

Oh, I did. [Less so than the year before because a lot of people close to her had been sent back. Even if some had returned but without memories.]

[She smirks slightly.] Didn't you notice my new boots? [She stretches one of her legs from under the table so that he can see her knee-high steel toe black leather boots. She's joking because there's no reason why he would have noticed. But the fact that she's made a change, even minor, to her outfit means something.] They're from Horst.

[He's about to say something smart, but Leon's rather fond of his body in one piece. And of course he didn't notice the boots, he's a guy. But the name rings a bell.]

Horst..the guy you're seeing, right?

[Raven sees him suppress the urge to making that obvious smart comment. Brownie points for resisting the temptation. Leon doesn't easily bites. He's smart and has good self-preservation instincts. That makes conversations with him are more interesting than average.

At his question, she nods.] My boyfriend, yes. [The mere fact of saying that word makes her smile softly.] We arrived here at about the same time, two years ago. He was my best friend. Then he was sent back and brought again a year later. ...Some part of him still remembered me.

So he can't remember his time here, but he could do the memory regression if he was up for it.

[Leon took another sip of tea, remembering how weird it was for Raven to be walking around in his mind. But he trusted her so it was alright, even if it was still weird to think about.]

He could. But so far he seems to like it better when I tell him the story the way I remember it.

[And they've restored that bond between them. Which was the most important to the both of them.]

Still if he asked... Of course I would do it for him.

[Like she did it for Leon.]

[That got a smirk out of Leon.]

I'd imagine.

[He's not going to clarify either, but he's more than sure Raven has this Horst guy wrapped around her finger. It would be easy for her to do to anyone.]

Creating new memories is a good thing too. [As long as they can do it together too.

Raven is not going to bring up that double date she discussed with Albedo because... no. Still she's kinda looking forward to Leon and Horst meeting each other.]

[Nodding, Leon put his present up on the table. This had a few gifts in it, consisting of a plush dragon, candles and tea.]

Next time I come over, I'll bring a cake, but you have to tell me what kind you like.

Chocolate? ...Unless you have some kind of special recipe you manage better that anyone else. [She's got quite the sweet tooth. She'll most likely enjoy any cake he bakes for her.]

[The tea is not really a surprise since it's a well-known fact it's Raven's favorite drink. Still Raven blinks when she notices the plush dragon. She reaches out for it, eying it and then Leon quizzically.] ...You're giving me a stuffed toy? [Seriously? She's not quite sure how to take it.]

[He smirked]

Chocolate it is.

[And with the dubious look she was giving the toy he shrugged.]

Figured he could use a better home because he would've been a hunted toy at my house. But if you don't like him then I can go get a real one for you if you'd prefer that.

[Really Leon had more than enough pets at the house and not all went on four legs.]

I already have a pet dragon, Leon... [In case he hasn't noticed.

She caresses the plush absentmindedly.] That's the second time I get a stuffed animal in a month's time. And the first times in eighteen years.

Is there a reason why you specifically chose a dragon?

[For a few moments he's sure he overstepped somewhere.]

Magic, mythology..things like that in general bring you to mind.

Mythology? [This gets him an half-amused, half-quizzical from Raven. Magic, she can understand. But mythology? Then again, he's not from Earth, so it might be a different kind of mythology than the one she's familiar with. She smirks.] Any goddess in particular?

[She's teasing him, really.]

[Leon sighed.]

The only God I dealt with was Hades. But I heard a lot of stories about the other ones..never met them though so I'll have to get back to you on which one.

Nevermind, Leon. I was just teasing you.

...I admit I have a history with dragons. But I'm pretty sure I'll get along with that one.

Care to inform the rest of the class about the history then?

You sure you wanna hear that story? ...It's kinda pathetic.
